THE GREAT SOUTH POUR
Exploring the history and beers of Budvar and Southern Bohemia with Roger Protz and Budvar Brew Masters Josef Tolar and Adam Broz. Also featuring a traditional Czech folk music combo.
Featuring:
- Four courses with matching Budvar Beers for just £25
- Your hosts: The UK's No 1 Beer Writer Roger Protz and Budvar Brew Masters Josef Tolar & Adam Broz will guide you through the history of Budvar including the century-long spat with Budweiser in the US and the development of Southern Bohemian beer - a style closer to Bavaria than Pilsener.
- Food inspired by the legendary Masne Kramy Restaurant in Ceske Budejovice (Budweis), home of Budvar. Menu is to be confirmed (and we are aiming to import some actual Czech ingredients) but you can expect plenty of Pork. Specialties at Masny Kramy (which means Meat Market in Czech) include Roast Pork Knuckle with Mustard Horseradish and Chili Pepper, Escalope of Pork with Parsley Potatoes and Steak of Pork neck with Bacon Croutons and Baked Onion
- Beers will include Budvar Yeast (unpasteurised), Budvar Dark and Budvar Premier Select as well as German pilseners for comparison.
